For Tibetan store owner, giving and receiving go hand in hand

Tenpa Dorjee, an ethnic Tibetan born to refugees in India, says it takes two hands to live a successful life – one to give and one to receive. And it’s how he runs his business, Tibet Handicrafts in Laguna Beach.

Dorjee says he lost both his parents before he was 5. A woman in Belgium sponsored him and paid for his place in an orphanage along with his education. “She sponsored me and two others and she wasn’t rich at all,” Dorjee said. “She did it to give back. She lived to be 101 years old.”   Read full article…
